❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is Operation 79, and what makes it a historic motorcycle ride?➕
Operation 79 is a high-octane, military-grade motorcycle expedition organized to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day. A historic convoy of exactly 79 bikes will journey through Ladakh’s most unforgiving terrains to pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. The pilgrimage culminates in a historic, emotional flag-hoisting ceremony on August 15th at the sacred Rezang La War Memorial. It is not a leisure tour, but a high-altitude ride of gratitude to the nation's guardians.
Which battlefields and military zones does the Operation 79 itinerary cover?➕
The expedition covers some of the highest battlefields ever fought over in military history. Key locations include:

• Rezang La War Memorial (Ahir Dham): The spiritual anchor where riders will honor Major Shaitan Singh, PVC, and the 13 Kumaon on Independence Day.
• The route also touches on the rugged landscapes of Kargil and Batalik, alongside high-security border zones made accessible through special official clearances.

What are the mandatory acclimatization rules for participants joining in Leh?➕
Because the expedition immediately ascends into high-altitude warfare terrain, all riders must arrive in Leh no later than August 11th (D-01). A mandatory 24-hour physical acclimatization period is strictly enforced on Day 1 to adapt to the thin air before tackling Khardung La on Day 2. Failing to complete this induction protocol risks severe altitude sickness.
